Policies

 

CAC POLICIES

  • The CAC hours of operation will be posted in the Control Center and communicated through church publications.
  • Because of the many seasonal activities and the wide variety of events, the CAC hours of operation may vary.
  • The CAC will be closed on all holidays that the church is closed.
  • The Christian Activity Center may not be used without CAC personnel present.


CAC OFFICE

  • The office is located on the second floor at the top of the ramp.
  • You can reach the office by calling 932-4813.
  • If a staff member is unavailable you can leave a message and your call will be returned.

Participation

  • Registration by all visitors of the building is required for information and safety.
  • Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

GUESTS

  • Church Members are encouraged to bring guests since a prime purpose of providing the building is outreach.
  • All guests must be signed-in.

ITEMS PROHIBITED

  • These items are not allowed in or on the property of the CAC: tobacco, any weapons, any alcoholic beverages, controlled substance, pets, food, drinks, gum, or anything that would detract from the Christian atmosphere.

DISCIPLINE

  • Willful violation of any policy, rule or regulation could lead to loss of eligibility to participate.
  • The CAC is operated by a staff that is here to help you. They have the right to say “no” or “stop.” Participants are expected to follow their directions.
  • The Recreation Staff has the right to ask anyone to leave for continually violating rules.

ENTERING AND EXITING

  • There are several outside doors to the CAC. Entrance will be made through the Main Door of the CAC. Emergency exits are located throughout the building, but are for emergency use only.
  • Each person entering the CAC is responsible for signing-in at the Control Center.

DRESS AND BEHAVIOR

  • The CAC is a ministry of First Baptist Church. In the interest of influencing others for Jesus Christ, the speech, dress, and conduct of all FBC members and guests will be in accordance with the highest Christian standards.
  • Shirt and shoes along with other appropriate apparel must be worn at all times, unless otherwise designated. Clothes with offensive slogans or words are not allowed.
  • Bad Language, offensive conversation, and any other form verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
  • Abuse to the building and/or equipment will not be tolerated.

RESERVATIONS

  • Reservations for special events or a birthday party must be made through the CAC office. For more information contact us at 932-4813.
  • Sunday School events in the CAC must also be scheduled through the CAC office. This will keep our calendar organized and efficient.

OUTSIDE GROUPS RESERVATIONS

  • All requests for reservations by outside groups must be approved by the CAC Staff.
  • Outside groups will be limited to one reserved time period per week (Saturday 10:00 – 2:00).

CONTROL DESK

  • The Control Center is a specialized area. It is the hub of the Christian Activity Center.
  • Only authorized persons are allowed in this area.
  • NO food, drink, or gum is allowed in the Control Center.
  • Equipment must be issued from the Control Center.
  • First Aid supplies will be stored at the Control Center.

WALKING/JOGGING TRACK

  • The rail side of the track is for walking. The wall side   of the track is for jogging.
  • This is a conditioning track. Racing is prohibited.
  • No under-age children (14 and younger) allowed on the track at any time.
  • The direction of jogging will be alternated according to the directional sign at the track entry.
  • Basketballs, volleyballs, or any type of athletic equipment are not allowed on the track.
  • Absolutely nothing may be thrown from or to the track or to the gym floor.
  • Only participants wearing appropriate jogging or tennis shoes will be allowed on the track.
  • Spectators are not permitted to observe gym activities from the track. Users of the track must not sit or lean over the safety rail.
  • No food, drinks, or gum allowed on the track.

GYMNASIUM

  • Shoes are required, but no street shoes or black-soled shoes are allowed.
  • Full-length shirts or basketball tops, along with other suitable attire (no shirts and skins)
  • Church activities always have priority over free play.
  • NO food, drink, or gum is allowed in the Gymnasium.
  • Absolutely nothing may be thrown from the gym floor to the jogging track above. Anyone violating this rule is in danger of being dismissed from the CAC.

EQUIPMENT

  • Equipment can only be checked out of the Control Desk and must be used for its intended purpose.
  • Equipment may be checked out for activities away from the FBC with approval from CAC staff. A form must be filled out and signed in person.
  • CAC equipment must be returned to the place from which it was checked out, and must be in good condition when returned. The use of any personal equipment must be cleared at the CAC office.pose

GAME ROOM

  • Every game has proper rules. Players are expected to respect and follow them.
  • Game tables are placed so that each game can be played without interfering with others. Do not move or sit on the tables.
  • Game Room equipment can be checked out at the Control Center.
  • No food, drink, or gum is allowed in the Game Room.
  • Must be in 7th grade or older to play pool without an adult.

INTERPRETATION OF POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND RULES

  • The Recreation Staff will be responsible for interpretation and enforcement of all rules.
  • Policies and procedures are reviewed periodically by the Recreation Staff and may be augmented or altered.
  • Any situation not specifically covered in this list of policies will be acted upon if and when the situation arises at the discretion of the Recreation Staff.

AEROBICS ROOM

  • All participants in the Aerobics room must wear rubber-soled shoes and appropriate aerobic exercise attire.
  • This room is designated for aerobics and exercise only.
  • Food and drink are not allowed in the Aerobics room.

FITNESS AREAS (WEIGHT ROOM)

  • These are specialized and programmed areas are for those 16 years of age or older. The room is locked and you must request key at the front desk.
  • Participants should check-in at the Control Center before entering the fitness areas.
  • Participants should use stretching and warm-up exercises before using any equipment.
  • In the event of equipment breakdown, participants should report it to a CAC worker.
