Fantastic Fours Basketball! Starting February 2008. Fantastic Fours is an experimental basketball league designed for the four-year-olds at First Baptist Church. With the loss of Micro Basketball in Jonesboro we wanted to give our younger members a chance to learn the sport of basketball and make new friends along the way. Our league is very laid back with “fun” being our main goal. The league will be the four Saturdays in February and will include a picture day and an award ceremony where everyone will be awarded a trophy.
FBC GOLF Scramble The FBC Golf Scramble is held the first Saturday in May every year and is great way for our members and guests to have fun and fellowship in a recreational environment. The format is a four-person scramble to give everyone a chance to have fun no matter what your skill level is. We have awards for both team and individual games such as lowest score, closest to the pin, and longest drive. For more information contact Grant Keller at the Christian Activity Center, 932-4813.
Upward Basketball! Coming in 2009! First Baptist Church is in the training stages of bringing Upward Basketball to the Christian Activity Center. After a year of meetings and training, our church will join in with a group of Jonesboro Churches to create a city-wide basketball league. The group is called Upward Athletics. This is a very exciting league for children and includes learning the sport of basketball and creating a personal relationship with God. For more info on Upward Athletics please visit the website at: http://www.upwardathletics.org.
Midnite 101 Midnite 101 is a weekly event where college students can play basketball, study together, and just hang out with new friends. It is a great place to meet new people who have come to Jonesboro for school and a great way to get connected to our university department at First Baptist Church. Midnite 101 takes place Mondays from 9:00pm to 12:00am.
Church-wide Picnic Every summer First Baptist Church joins together at Craighead Forrest for a Church-Wide picnic. We fellowship together at a pavilion on the lakefront with live music, potluck-style dinning, and a large playground for the children. It is a unique experience and a fun way to meet new people along with relaxing under the sunset.
